About the Camp Facility

The camp is held in Goree, Texas at the Knox Prairie Event's Center. A former school, the center offers abundant class space, lodging and a highly rated cafeteria, perfect spots for group jam sessions and the final end-of-camp concert. It is located at 820 West Holly in Goree, TX 76363.

Housing is dormitory style, with separate dorms for boys & girls. Each dorm will have a counselor/parent on duty. Campers will be divided by age.

What Campers can Expect

Campers can expect to study their instrument in a relaxed and fun environment.  Each camper will be evaluated by instructors at the beginning of the camp, so they can be placed in appropriate classes where they can benefit the most.

Students are not allowed to leave campus without specific permisssion from the camp director J.W. Sollis or Judy Rountree.

Friends and family and fans of Western Swing are invited to attend the evening jam sessions that begin at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. The final concert is at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
